Respect is The FA’s programme to address unacceptable behaviour in football – on and off the pitch.

The Cheltenham Youth Football League participated in the pilot for the initiative in early 2008, and duly introduced the concept across all age groups from season 2008-09. We received a Bronze Award in The FA's Respect & Fair Play Awards in April 2012, in recognition of our support of the Respect programme and the quality of experience that we offer to participants.

The FA awarded the League "Commended Status" as part of the FA Respect Awards in 2014-15.

Our Member Clubs are encouraged to display the Respect Codes of Conduct (below) in their pavilions and changing rooms, and to use the Respect handshake and spectator barriers at matches.

Have you joined the club? Respect FC was launched in 2011 to unite everyone in football against the ugly side of the game, and create a safe and enjoyable environment in which it can take place. We are asking everyone (to ask everyone) to join the club and together win the battle against disrespect in football. For every fan that joins Respect FC, The FA has pledged to put £1 back into the Respect initiative within grassroots football, and members will be able to choose how that money is spent.
